Constable tortured by TLP protesters a month ago dies

LAHORE: A police constable, Shafqat Ali, who was subjected to severe torture by the Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) protesters on April 13, 2021, succumbed to his injuries in his native town in Pindi Bhattian, district Hafizabad, on Sunday.
The 42-year-old constable was posted at Gujjarpura police station and he was seriously injured by protestors at Karol Ghati. He had been receiving treatment for the past one month.
CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said the martyrdom of policemen was a visible message to the anti-social elements that “we are ready to sacrifice our lives for the country and protection of people”. He promised complete care of the family members of the deceased jawan.
