Woman shot dead in Landhi
The deceased woman was shot once in her chest and she had also been hit with a heavy object in her neck
A woman was shot dead in Karachi’s Landhi area on Sunday. Police said the incident took place at a house in Sector 36-B within the limits of the Landhi police station.
Upon receiving the information, police and rescuers reached the property and transported the casualty to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities where she was identified as 21-year-old Bisma.
The deceased woman was shot once in her chest and she had also been hit with a heavy object in her neck, police said, adding that the victim’s husband, Amanat, and father-in-law, Sarfaraz, could have been responsible for the murder as they had escaped following the incident.
However, the woman’s mother-in-law, Fareeda Begum, told police that Amanat and Bisma had a love marriage and they had a minor daughter. A case has been registered and investigations are under way.
