Five held for occupation of Meera family’s property
LAHORE:Lahore police on Friday arrested at least five people over allegations of illegally occupying the family property of film star Meera.
A case has been registered in Ghalib Market. According to the FIR, the complainant, Hassan Abbas, said that they wanted to see their property near Mini Market. A person, Mian Shahid, had prepared the forged documents of it and occupied it, he alleged. He said as they were visiting their property, five persons, identified as Nauman Khursheed, Mirza Asad Baig, Waqas Shahbaz, Sardar Ahmad and Amirzada, carrying fire arms barged into their place. They tried to illegally occupy it. The complaint said a called at 15 was made from and a police team reached. The prime suspect, Mian Shahid, on seeing police team fled from the scene. However, other five suspects were arrested by police. Police also recovered fire arms from their custody. The complainant said that their valuables from their house were missing. The complainant alleged that he found a laptop missing from his room.
The Ghalib Market police station SHO said that they thwarted the illegal occupation attempt at the plaza of Meera’s late mother and arrested five suspects. A case has been registered. Police were investigating the matter. Two days back, Meera had approached the CCPO Lahore and visited his office in this regard. In her application before CCPO Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, she had said that a few suspects had prepared forged documents of the property owned by her mother. She had alleged that it was an illegal occupation as the suspects had forcefully taken thumb impressions from her mother on forged documents. The CCPO took notice of the issue and asked the Model Town SP to take action in this regard.
