This refers to the news report ‘Case closed but troubles not over for Justice Isa’ (June 9). According to the news report, Prime Minister Imran Khan reportedly told a visitor that he could easily muster a two-third majority “if he was not obstructed by the judiciary”. I place this statement in the same category as that of Asad Umar’s. Earlier, Umarhad proudly announced that Karachi was the PTI’s city. The PM seems to be unaware of the latest situation. In the recent by-election in the Karachi constituency (that was held after people had seen the PTI’s performance), the PTI’s candidate came fifth.
However, leaving aside the PTI’s optimism, it is a fact that people would have felt far more assured if the concerned judge had been cleared through a unanimous verdict.
