Minister opens One Window Operation Centre

LAHORE:Provincial Minister for Industry and Commerce Mian Aslam Iqbal Thursday inaugurated One Window Operation Centre and ‘Online Affiliation Portal’ at Punjab Board of Technical Education for the convenience of students.

Now with the use of modern technology, the technical board will be able to provide e-service to the students. Chairman Board M Nazir Khan Niazi and Board members attended the inaugural function held in the Committee Room of Punjab Board of Investment.

Speaking on the occasion, Aslam Iqbal appreciated the One Window Operation Centre in Punjab Board of Technical Education and the establishment of a portal for the affiliation of institutions. He said the revolutionary initiative of the board will provide the best facilities to the students and the institutions of technical education. With the establishment of One Window Centre, the problems of students will be solved under one roof. Now students do not have to visit offices again and again to solve their problems. The

minister said that the provision of e-services in the board was in line with the vision of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Punjab.

Later, while chairing the second meeting of the members of the Punjab Board of Technical Education of ongoing fiscal year, the minister rejected the proposal to change the name of the institution and change the ownership fee.

The meeting also approved the proposed budget of the board. The revenue estimate in the budget is Rs 946.891 million while the total expenditure is estimated at Rs 1037.225 million. Promotion of quality technical education and preparation of skilled manpower as per the requirements of the industry is need of the hour, he observed. The provincial minister also administered oath to the newly-elected officials of the Punjab Board of Technical Education Employees Association.
