Fawad cautions against harming PTI
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain Wednesday said ‘our politics is related to Imran Khan, if any attempt is made to harm Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, it will prove to be a leaden wall.’
He said this while talking to a delegation of Insaf Lawyers Forum Rawalpindi and Islamabad, which called on him here. Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Political Affairs Dr Shahbaz Gill, Advocate General Islamabad Niazullah Niazi was also present in the meeting.
The minister said that the government is committed to the welfare of bar associations and added the politics of bar associations should be independent, without any interference from the government. “The use of technology is an important need of the hour for transparency in elections. Rawalpindi, Multan and Punjab bar councils have expressed their desire to hold their elections on EVMs. Other bar associations can also benefit from the use of technology,” he said.
The minister contended, “We are aware of the problems of the Insaf Lawyers Forum, every effort will be made to resolve them. Talks have been held with SBP to provide loans to young lawyers. Under the Kamyab Jawan Programme, a proposal to provide loans to young lawyers up to Rs1 million is under consideration. Consideration is being given to include lawyers in PM's New Pakistan Housing Scheme,” he noted.
The minister added that steps are being taken on priority basis to provide health cards to lawyers. “We stand with lawyers at all levels, valuable services of lawyers for upholding the Constitution and law are commendable,” the minister maintained.
“In Pakistan, we have achieved the target of vaccinating 10 million people. The whole world appreciates the way Pakistan fought against coronavirus. The manner in which the prime minister did not allow the nation to be disappointed in this nerve-wracking war and the NCOC implemented the policy of the prime minister needs to be highly praised,” he said in a tweet.
