LAHORE:A delegation from the United Nations Department of Safety and Security visited the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) headquarters here on Monday.
The delegation was led by Chief Security Adviser of UNDSS Ms Catherine Mackenzie whereas deputy security adviser Johan Douglas was accompanying her. Chief Operating Officer, Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Muhammad Kamran Khan welcomed and briefed the delegation on working of the authority. The UN delegation expressed keen interest in an integrated system of modern policing.
On the occasion, UN Chief Security Adviser Ms Catherine Mackenzie said, “We consider ourselves much safer in Lahore after seeing the working of Safe Cities Authority.” She said Lahore's safety index has improved significantly due to PSCA’s positive interventions.
Catherine Mackenzie said the Safe Cities Authority was taking best possible steps to make Lahore safer and such projects are much needed to maintain law and order in metropolis. The UN delegation’s head said that the Safe Cities project has significantly improved traffic flow and law enforcement in the city. The COO presented a commemorative shield to Ms Katherine Mackenzie.
