Two people were killed in separate incidents reported in the city on Thursday.  In the Jamshed Quarters police limits, Muhammad Zahid was shot dead while his father, Muhammed Saeed, and brother, Kashif, were injured at their hardware shop situated on Martin Road.

Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Nasir Lodhi said the victims - residents of Nafeesabad in PIB Colony - were taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for treatment, where Zahid succumbed to his injuries while the other two remain under treatment.

The deceased, he said, had multiple bullet wounds to his upper torso. According to Lodhi, the attackers used 9mm pistols and six bullet shells found at the crime scene had been forwarded for forensics.

He said the incident seemed an apparent snatching bid but assured that all other aspects would be investigated.

In a separate case, Gul Raheem was shot dead near Star Ground in Landhi, within the Quaidabad police’s   jurisdiction. SHO Mohammed Ali Marwat said the deceased was a resident of Bengali Para and was unemployed.

He was rushed to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre but could not be saved.  The SHO said the murder appeared to be a targeted killing.
