LAHORE
Dozens of students from Sharif College of Engineering and Technology on Monday protested at Jati Umra, Raiwind near residence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif against non-accreditation of the college’s BSc engineering programmes.
The students said owing to non-accreditation of the college’s BSc Electrical Engineering and Chemical Engineering programmes, the currently enrolled students and especially those graduated this year were disturbed. They said the first-ever batch which graduated early this year was facing immense difficulties in finding jobs as their degrees were not accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
The students carrying banners and placards also chanted slogans on the occasion and demanded the college management to resolve their problem at the earliest. Later, they dispersed peacefully.
