NAB, Pemra join hands against corruption
DG NAB says wives can play pivotal role in preventing their husbands from indulging in corruption and corrupt practices

ISLAMABAD: To augment and support the endeavour of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in its drive against elimination of corruption and corrupt practices from public sector organizations and society, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) invited Ms. Aliya Rashid, Director General (Awareness & Prevention), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) at its Head Office in Islamabad. It was aimed at giving orientation/presentation to the Pemra officers and staff on various forms of corruption and the integrated awareness and prevention campaigns launched by the NAB, says a press release.
Ms. Aliya apprised Pemra officers and staff of various forms of corruption and the concerted efforts being made by the NAB to prevent corruption and corrupt practices followed by various legislations. She also informed about NAB’s prevention and awareness techniques to raise the slogan of “Say No to Corruption”.
It was informed that Pakistan was the leading country to adopt “Say No to Corruption” logo on utility bills, driving licenses, ATMs, routine govt correspondences and public sector print advertisements and was also the first country to introduce postal stamps bearing this logo.
Director General NAB stressed the role of mothers/wives in their families and called on women to actively participate in preventing members of their families from getting involved in corruption. As central figures in families, women/wives can play a pivotal role in preventing their husbands from corruption and corrupt practices.
Concluding the session, acting Chairman Pemra Kamal Uddin Tipu thanked the NAB officials for educate the Pemra officers on this very important subject. He also shed light on various forms of corrupt practices in vogue in the public sector organizations and urged Pemra officers/officials to be sincere, honest, loyal and workaholic to produce the desired results.
