CM to interview aspiring PML-N candidates: Sana

FAISALABAD: Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that the PML-N has constituted a board to interview the intending candidates for the slots of district councils chairmen and municipal corporations mayors across the province.
Addressing the newly-elected councillors of the PML-N at his dera at Samanabad on Monday, he said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would interview the aspiring candidates and submit his report to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who as the PML-N president, would announce his final decision in the light of the board report.
Of 157 local government seats in Faisalabad City, 71 candidates emerged victorious having an election symbol of ‘Tiger’ while 40 others, who were elected, were also the Muslim leaguers, he added.
He said that if his earlier statements had hurt the sentiments of anyone, he openly regretted for it. He urged the PML-N groups to burry their petty differences and collectively struggle for improve the party image among the masses.
He congratulated the elected councillors and urged them to devotedly work for serving the voters of their constituencies. He criticised the PTI leadership for their undemocratic attitude. He paid tributes to local police and administration for peaceful LG elections in Faisalabad.
