Provincial Minister for Labour and HR Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that the post 18th Constitutional Amendments are reliable and effective reporting system ensures implementation on International Labour Standards (ILS) whcih has gained more importance for the economic and social development of the country. The ILO is providing technical assistance to the Punjab government to improve the application and reporting mechanism on the ILS.
He said this while presiding over a meeting to review the progress on the ILS reporting system on Wednesday. Director General Labour Welfare Muhammad Saleem Hussain, Director Labour Syed Hasnaat Javed, Director IRI Tahir Manzoor, Deputy Director Labour Inspection Daud Abdullah and other officers concerned attended the meeting. Director Labour Hasnaat Javed informed the meeting about the measures being taken to improve reporting system in industrial and commercial units. He highlighted the importance of labour standard and role of the ILO, federal government, provincial departments, employers and employees in ensuring vertical and horizontal coordination and communication for effective reporting.
