Eric Dane's biggest regret comes to light following days of his death

Eric Dane chose one thing over his sex tape scandal at the time of his death.

On Thursday, February 19, the Grey’s Anatomy star passed away at the age of 53 due to complications caused by Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

He was diagnosed with ALS, a progressive and fatal disease in which neurodegenerative are destroyed motoneurons leading to muscle weakness, paralysis, and eventual respiratory failure, in April 2025 and publicly talked about his disease to raise awareness.

Being a public celebrity, Dane’s life was under constant scrutiny and things became worse for him when a leaked video surfaced in 2009, showing him and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, in a bathtub with another woman.

Almost five years later, in 2014, the Euphoria star regretted making the video and what disturbed him the most was getting his wife involved in his malicious act, as he claimed to “love’ her the most.

Dane said, "We all make mistakes” but “my one regret is that I got the person I love most wrapped up in all that: Rebecca."

Notably, the unknown woman in the video turned out to be beauty queen Kari Ann Peniche.
