Faris is returning to play her iconic role in the forthcoming sixth instalment along with Marlon and Shawn Wayans, Regina Hall, Jon Abrahams, Olivia Rose Keegan, and other notable actors.

While conversing with PEOPLE magazine about her upcoming horror parody project, she admitted that the experience was “transformative.”

Voicing her thoughts, The Dictator star quipped, “The last 20 months have just been absolutely transformative.”

“I am feeling so grateful that I am in a position where people, when they see me, if they do recognize me, they usually smile. They’re usually like, ‘Oh yeah, she’s that girl who did that dumb thing.’ I’m really embracing that. I feel just grateful,” Faris explained.

The Wayans brothers, Keenen, Marlon, and Shawn, approached her to make her join Scary Movie 6, which made her feel “shocked and immediately thrilled.”

“I couldn’t believe there was a world where I would be feeling so good about doing Scary Movies — not just good, great. It’s a little, I wish I had a better word, but healing. We got to be back together again. And that in and of itself is, for me, a personal celebration,” Faris elaborated.

It is pertinent to mention that the sixth instalment of Scary Movie is set to hit theaters on June 5, 2026.
