Misua, 'Drag Race: Philippines,' breathes her last at 27
Misua, who was ready to appear on 'Drag Race: Philippines' season four, passes away
Drag Race: Philippines star Misua has passed away at the age of 27.
Releasing a joint statement on Thursday, April 2, 2026, Drag Race: Philippines and production team World of Wonder announced the tragic news of her death.
Misua, whose real name was Jason Elvie Ty, embraced death while sleeping, according to the statement.
With the picture of the reality television star, the post read, “We are heartbroken to share that Misua, a talented Queen set to appear on season four of Drag Race: Philippines, passed away in her sleep the morning of April 2.”
They admitted that Misua “brought light, artistry, and joy to those around her, and she will be deeply missed.”
“We have paused production to care for and support our cast and crew during this incredibly difficult time," they revealed.
"Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who loved her. We are in contact with her family who have asked for privacy during this hard time,” the post concluded.
It is pertinent to mention that Drag Race: Philippines and World of Wonder did not reveal the exact cause of Misua’s death in their joint statement.
Notably, as soon as the post came out, tributes and condolences started to pour in as Hannah Conda from RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under wrote, “Absolutely heartbreaking! My thoughts are with my Filo family. I love you all and sending my love! She was an absolute star!”
Blue Hydrangea, RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World winner, also paid homage to Misua by writing, “Devastating! Sending all my love to everyone involved.”
