'The Young and the Restless' and 'ER' star Dee Freeman breathes her last at 66 on April 2
Dolores "Dee" Freeman, who shot to fame after her appearance in The Young and the Restless, has passed away.
Dee, who was battling with stage four cancer, died at the age of 66 on Thursday, April 2, 2026, according to her family’s statement.
The grieving family’s statement read, “On behalf of her family, it is with deepest sadness that we share this update with you. Dee passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026 after a brave and fearless fight with cancer.”
They extended their gratitude to those who stood by Dee’s side during her battle with cancer. “Thank you to everyone who supported Dee during her battle,” they said.
“It blew her away to know how many people cared about her and were pulling for her. We know Dee is up there in heaven being the force of nature she always was. Now she’s doing it with her angel wings on. Rest in peace, Dee,” the statement concluded.
For those unaware, before stepping into the world of entertainment, Dee was part of United States Marine Cops and served there for six years.
In 1995, she first appeared in an episode of ABC’s Coach, making her onscreen debut, which opened doors for other opportunities, as she landed roles in shows like Seinfeld, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Caroline in the City, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Shameless, Tyler Perry’s Sistas, ER, The X-Files, Party of Five, and others.
It is pertinent to mention that Dee has left behind her children Amber and Shane, whom she welcomed with her ex-husband, and many exotic animals.
