‘KWSB losing billions every year’

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has been suffering losses of billions of rupees per year as registrars and sub registrars were giving leases to people without clearing the board's bills.
In a press release, the KWSB maintained that this law was made mandatory by the Sindh Assembly
that registrars, before giving any kind of lease, should verify all these for these utility bills.
The KWSB has repeatedly called for action against persistent non-payment of bills by government offices, departments and other civic entities. Citing persistent failure to clear dues completely or even partially, a few days back, the board had even severed the connection afforded to the National Stadium in Karachi.
