Punjab approves six development schemes

THE Punjab government Wednesday approved six development schemes of various development sectors with an estimated cost of Rs2.558 billion.
These schemes were approved in the 12th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2015-16 presided over by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Muhammad Irfan Elahi.
Provincial Secretary P&D Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, members of the Planning & Development Board, Provincial Secretaries concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.
According to Spokesman for Planning & Development Department, the approved development schemes included: Research report on situation analysis of Women’s Employment in private sector in Punjab (PC-II) at the cost of Rs5.350 million, construction of Married Officers Residences (MOF) at PS Qila Gujjar Singh, Lahore at the cost of Rs228.753 million, installation of filtration plants on 105-No tube-wells (A counter-part project with the funding of the Punjab government vs Energy Saving in Water Supply System in Lahore) at the cost of Rs499.24 million, protection of Abadies and infrastructure from devastation of Chichali Nullah Tehsil Isakhel District Mianwali at the cost of Rs359.148 million, management of Mithawan Hill torrent in DG Khan at the cost of Rs1.040 billion and providing river training works over River Ravi due to construction of Mal-Fatyana Bridge for Protection of Muhammad Shahwala and Kalera Flood Bund of Burala Division Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh at the cost of Rs425.620 million.
