Four of a family die in train-car collision
KASUR: Four people of a family, including two brothers and their wives, died in a car-train collision at Landa Pathak, Pattoki.
Sarfraz and Hamad of village Gahlan Chak 9 along with their wives were travelling in a car when Khyber Express train hit the car. As a result, Sarfraz, his brother Hamad and Samreen Sarfraz died on the spot while Kiran Hamad was rushed to THQ hospital in a critical condition where she died. Relatives and villagers staged a protest demonstration against the Pakistan Railway authorities and demanded action against the responsible.Later, they ended the protest on the assurance of the DSP Pattoki.Sadar Pattoki police lodged a case against four officials of PR and arrested one of them. Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Federal Minister for Railway Sheikh Rashid sought reports from the authorities concerned.
