The Lahore High Court on Monday issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan on a petition challenging release of development funds by the Punjab government after the local government elections schedule in the province.
A citizen, Muhammad Ashfaq, in his petition, said that the PML-N provincial government had committed pre-poll rigging by releasing development funds of over Rs12 billion to its legislatures.
