Four injured in clash between MPA’s family, rivals

PESHAWAR: Four people were wounded in an incident of fist-fighting followed by firing between two families in the limits of the Bhanamari Police Station here on Sunday.

An official of the Capital City Police said the family members of a female MPA clashed with some locals over a petty issue that resulted in injuries to four persons. He added that the rivals attacked each other with sharp metal objects while some shots were fired as well.

The official said Waqar, son of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA, Nighat Orakzai, and his uncle Gohar were injured from one side while Sharafat and Tayyab belonging to the rival party also sustained injuries. Only Sharafat, the official said, sustained bullet injuries. The official said that three accused each from the two sides were arrested.
