Food packets distributed among families hit by lockdown
FAISALABAD: Under the welfare programme of Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar, food packets have been distributed among the lockdown-hit deserving families on behalf of Director General FDA Muhammad Suhail Khawaja.
The food packets include flour, sugar, ghee, rice, pulses, spices, chillies, tea and soap. The FDA team led by Muhammad Asif delivered the food packets to the deserving families at their homes. The team went to Kachi Abadis Syedabad, Mansoorabad, Railway Colony, Dawood Colony, Noorpur and outside Mujahid Hospital Madina Town and handed over the food packets to the daily wagers, labourers and other unemployed people hit by lockdown due to the threat of coronavirus.
Meanwhile, Director General FDA Muhammad Suhail Khawaja said that the public and private sectors and philanthropists were working for the rehabilitation of the lockdown-hit people on the motivation of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar. He said that the people hit by lockdown would not be left alone and all-out support and help would be provided to them. He maintained that the Pakistani nation was combating against the coronavirus threat and would succeed with courage and commitment. He said that the distribution of food items would continue till the rehabilitation of the lockdown-hit families.
District administration, philanthropists to help needy people: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Friday held a meeting with philanthropist at his office.
Addressing the meeting, the DC said philanthropists of Faisalabad have been contributing for the deserving people during difficult situations such as earthquakes, floods and other calamities. He said now the philanthropists are again vowing help for coronavirus affected people of the city.
He said the district administration and philanthropists are taking effective steps to provide essential items to the needy people on a daily basis. SSP Operations Syed Ali Raza, ADCR Mian Aftab Ahmad, DFC Ali Imran and representatives of flour mills, traders, NGOs Madina Foundation, Silanai, Akhuwat, Chenab Club and others were also present on the occasion. The philanthropists said they would continue their assistance for the deserving people.
Meanwhile, the DC visited the fruit and vegetables market Sadhar and checked the availability and prices of vegetables and fruit. The DC inspected different stalls and checked availability of vegetables and fruit. He directed the market committee staff for regular monitoring of the auctions.
