Student dies as landslide hits house in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: A girl student of second-year was killed and her four family members sustained injuries when landslide fell on a house in Murad Pur area on Thursday, police officials said.
They said the locals rushed to the scene after the incident and retrieved Iqra Ishaq from the rubble after hectic efforts of over an hour and rushed her to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. Her funeral prayer was offered in Murad Pur area where a large number of people showed up and prayed for the departed soul. Meanwhile, the Pulrah Police Station officials distributed masks and sanitisers among people. The SHO, Nisar Saddaqat, gave away sanitisers and masks to people and directed them to remain at their houses on pursuance of section 144 of PPC, invoked by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. He also warned them of strict legal action if they breached the government order.
