ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan Danila Ganich has clarified a report titled ‘Decision on North-South Gas Pipeline expected today’ published in The News on Wednesday.
In a statement, the ambassador said that he was misquoted. “Allegedly I said that ‘Pakistan is a sovereign country and it is up to the authorities of Pakistan to pick either latest structure or previous one and the Russian government in either case will be ready to work with Pakistan’.
“Meanwhile during the mentioned meeting with a top official of the Petroleum Division I actually stated that Moscow is expecting the long-awaited response to its proposals and its contents is a sovereign right of Pakistan.”
