Time to act
With an exponential increase in Covid-19 patients in Pakistan, much depends on the performance of front-line warriors. These are doctors and paramedics, risking their lives in order to save people from the pandemic. Three points needs to be addressed immediately. First of all, uninterrupted regular supply of N-95 masks, testing kits and PPEs. Second, sufficient quarantine facilities must be arranged without further loss of time. Last but not the least, a complete lockdown like Wuhan may strictly be implemented to control the spread of the pandemic.
It is hoped that the PTI think tank will already be in the process of formulating a solid and effective strategy for the pandemic. However, it is imperative on all of us that we play our role positively and efficiently to stop spreading this pandemic. The lip-service of opposition parties is adding fuel to fire and aggravating the situation. Practical action is the need of the hour and we all must stand united to defeat Covid-19.
