Utility support
April 02, 2020
This refers to the letter, 'What relief?' (March 30) by Aijaz Ahmed Bhayo. The writer has rightly pointed out the issues which need to be addressed by the federal government on priority to give maximum relief to daily wagers. There are other commendable actions taken by the incumbent government to cater to this global calamity.
I would urge the PM to withdraw utility bills up to Rs2000 and Rs4000 in respect of gas and electricity respectively from March onwards (till the situation improves) rather than giving concessions to pay them in instalments. This will be a big support for the middle class.
