DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Twelve persons of a family were quarantined in their home after its two members reported positive for the coronavirus test in Madina Colony of Dewala Union Council on Wednesday.
The sources said that the infected woman, whose name could not be ascertained, had come from Tank district to her parents’ home at Madina Colony in Dewala Union Council a few days ago. The health department collected swabs of the woman and her brother for test after showing symptoms for the coronavirus. The result confirmed that both had Covid-19 positive. Taking notice of the confirmed Covid-19 positive cases of a sister and her brother, officials of the district administration and health department later quarantined the entire family comprising of 12 individuals including men, women and children. Confirming the two Covid-19 positive cases, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Umair directed the quarters concerned to take further precautionary and preventive steps against the coronavirus to contain the spread of viral disease in the district. He appealed the people to follow the government guidelines and stay home and avoid going to bazars, joining crowds and meeting with others. Meanwhile, the district police swung into action and sent contingents to implement complete lockdown in bazaars and markets to contain the spread of the virus.
