10 taken to QMC for showing corona symptoms
NOWSHERA: Two patients admitted at the Qazi Medical Complex (QMC) tested negative for coronavirus on Tuesday as another 10 people were taken to the facility after showing the disease symptoms.
Nine new patients were quarantine at homes and only one was shifted to the isolation ward at the QMC. A total of seven patients were allowed to leave the quarantine centre established at the Government Postgraduate College. Now 24 patients were under treatment at the centre.
According to Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan and QMC Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Zahid Khan, two patients, Shehzad Khan and Abdul Qadir were allowed to go home after testing negative for the viral disease. They were quarantined at homes.
One Babu Laal was among the 10 patients who were taken to the QMC after showing symptoms of the disease. He was admitted to the isolation ward and the rest were quarantined at homes. The deputy commissioner said assistant commissioner and magistrate raided various markets and shops to check the price-hike. He said the profiteers and hoarders were fined.The official requested the people to stay home as the lockdown was meant to save them from contracting the coronavirus. Meanwhile, Nowshera Station Commander Brigadier Nazir Hussain Khan said that the army would extend all cooperation to the district administration in controlling the coronavirus.He said no one would be allowed to exploit the situation and fleece the people in this difficult situation when they are facing the viral disease challenge. The station commander made the remarks as he chaired a meeting at the headquarters about the coronavirus control. The district administration and police officials were present there.Earlier, the deputy commissioner briefed the participants on the steps taken by the district administration to overcome the coronavirus challenge. Shahid Ali Khan gave the number of the suspected and confirmed COVID-19 patients along with the quarantine and treatment facilities. He enlisted the measures taken to keep the prices of the essential items under control. The DC said the Nowshera district has been divided into four zones. He said the army would be engaged in case of a complete lockdown to control the spread of the fast-travelling coronavirus.
