Pervaiz praises Bilawal for efforts against pandemic
LAHORE:Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi while talking along with Senator Kamil Ali Agha and Mian Munir on telephone in the All Parties Conference (APC) convened by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) on Tuesday for protection against coronavirus thanked Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for his efforts to bring all parties on one page on the issue.
He said that lockdown could only be of benefit if all circumstances were watched on a daily basis. Money and food in streets and mohallahs would have to be provided to the needy, he said, adding that all political parties’ workers would have to work together for allaying difficulties faced by the common and poor people. He said every province had different problems and all parties would have to face every difficulty with unity.
Paying tributes to Dr Osama Riaz in Gilgit on his martyrdom, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that Dr Osama was martyred while performing his duty. He said, “I appeal to the workers of all parties to display unity on the occasion of this pandemic. We can get rid of this pandemic only through unity. Committees should be established at the street, mohallah and village level for this purpose, and all members of the Punjab Assembly have contributed their share; other provinces should also contribute their share in it.”
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said, “We all are concerned about the health of Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani on his positive report and pray to Almighty Allah for his recovery.” Prisoners being freed over coronavirus: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has said that prisoners are being released in view of apprehension that they might be hit by coronavirus.
Pervaiz Elahi also held telephonic conversation with Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and asked him to accelerate efforts for release of daughter of the nation Aafiya Siddiqui. Shah Mahmood Qureshi assured the PA Speaker that he would talk to Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the US officials in this regard.
