PESHAWAR: The Adviser to Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Ajmal Wazir, has said the total number of the coronavirus patients in the province is 23 and two have already died.

Speaking at a news conference on Thursday, he said coronavirus is a threat to all and they would jointly combat this deadly disease. The only cure of the coronavirus, he said, were the precautionary measures and the government has already enforced emergency and released the funds to tackle the situation.

The adviser said the decisions taken by the government to stop the spread of coronavirus would be implemented. He asked the traders to support the government and comply with the instructions to protect public health and life.

Ajmal Wazir said no decision has been taken to impose a curfew. He asked the people staging a sit-in in Peshawar to end their protest keeping in view the existing sensitive situation in the country. The adviser rejected the reports of 15 more coronavirus patients, asking every department to first get the reports verified from the Information Department and then issue any statement on the issue.

He said there were four new cases. Presenting the details, he said that one was from Mansehra, who was the brother of the patients. The second patient, who is 30 years old, hails from Khyber while the third patient is from Buner. His age is 25 years. The fourth patient is from Charsadda and she is 30. The adviser said another 250 “zaireen” would be coming from Iran and they would be kept in Dera Ismail Khan Quarantine centre.
