Ghani issues show-cause notices to truant principal, teachers

Sindh Minister for Education & Labour Saeed Ghani paid a surprise visit on Wednesday morning to various public colleges of District Korangi and issued show cause notices to absent teachers.

The colleges he visited included the Government Girls Degree Arts & Commerce College Industrial Area Landhi, Government Degree Boys College at Jogimor, Quaidabad and Arts Government College.

While examining the academic activities of the colleges, the provincial minister said if teachers did not come on time, students would never be punctual. He vowed to continue inspecting colleges and schools on a daily basis.

According to a press statement, when Ghani reached the Government Girls Degree Arts & Commerce College in the morning, he found that none of the teachers was present.

On the absence of the teachers, including the principal, he ordered issuance of show-cause notices to them. Later, he visited the Government Degree Boys College Jogimor and praised the teachers, staff, and principal of the college.

Due to low enrolment in the college, the education minister directed the principal to make liaison with parents. He also asked him to ensure that academic activities were carried out in the college.

Ghani also directed officers of the education department to visit educational institutions in their respective districts and send related pictures and videos to the relevant WhatsApp number. On Tuesday, the education minister had visited government schools and colleges of Lyari Town.
