KARAK: The traders in the district have criticised a new tax imposed by the Tehsil Municipal Administration, Karak, on small-scale vendors and refused to pay it until and unless the deputy commissioner concerned hears their plea. The announce was made at a meeting of traders, with the traders’ union district president Gul Razi Khan Khattak in the chair here on Sunday.
The meeting participants argued that the TMA officials were trying to collect more and more money from people in the name of tax. They said that first the TMA should provide basic facilities of drinking water, parking lots and bathrooms in the urban localities before demanding tax.
