Investors to be given incentives: minister

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal has said industrialists and investors will be given special incentives and plots on subsidised rates for establishing industrial units in special economic zones.

Presiding over a meeting on the establishment of special economic zones, sales of plots for setting up of industrial units and provision of infrastructure in industrial estates here at civil secretariat Monday, the minister said that revolution of economic development will take place by establishing special economic zones in the province.

Secretary Industries Zafar Iqbal, Chairman PIEDMC Syed Nabeel Hashmi, Additional Secretary Industry, CEO PIEDMC and officers attended concerned the meeting

The minister said that industrial estates equipped with latest infrastructure will be a game-changer for development of the province. Foreign investors are investing in Punjab due to investors’ friendly policies of the government. Economic conditions of Punjab will change due to industrialisation, the minister said.

He said steps are also being taken for revival of sick industrial units besides accelerating the process of industrialisation.
