PESHAWAR: A woman worker of Awami National Party (ANP) was shot at and injured here on Thursday.
Zeba Afridi was shot outside her home in Larama village in Peshawar district. ANP provincial General Secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said the ANP worker received a bullet in her leg and was out of danger. Sardar Hussain Babak said the attack on his party’s colleague outside her home proved that the government had failed to maintain law and order. He said it was the government’s responsibility to bring the culprits to justice and provide protection to all citizens. Claiming that no-one was safe in the province, he said that target killing, robberies and other criminal activities had increased in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meanwhile, police officials said that there was a clash between her family members and neighbours. “One of the neighbours opened fire and the accused was arrested later on,” said an official.
