Two gangs busted

Islamabad : Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted two criminals ' gangs and recovered 16 snatched or stolen bikes, parts of stolen vehicles, valuables and weapons from their possession, police said.

According to details, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ordered crackdown against criminals including those involved in dacoity incidents. Following these orders, DIG (Operations) Waqar-Ud-Din Syed directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city.

SP (investigation) Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer constituted special teams under supervision of DSP CIA Hakim Khan including Asim zahidi along with others officials which successfully nabbed three gangsters involved in snatching vehicle and other valuables at gun point.

The gangsters have been identified as Naseer s/o Ghani Ahmed resident of Jahangi syedain Islamabad and Moeed Gul s/o Juma Khan resident of Afghanistan.

Police team also recovered snatched vehicles' parts, registration books and mobile phones from their possession. During the preliminary investigation, they confessed their involvement in incidents of looting people in areas of Shams Colony, Noon and Khanna police stations areas.

Separate cases have been registered against them in Shams colony, Noon and Khanna police stations and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, ASI Shakeel Ahmed along with others nabbed Danish Masood Bhatti involved in snatching motorbikes at gun point. Police team also recovered 16 snatched and stolen motorbikes from him. During the preliminary investigation, he confessed his involvement in incidents of snatching and stealing bikes in areas of Industrial-Area, Aabpara Islamabad and Sadiq Abad Rawalpindi Police stations areas.
