PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial head Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao said on Sunday that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government could not overcome inflation and the prices of the daily use items had registered a sharp increase.
According to a press release, he was speaking at a gathering at Watan Kor, the headquarters of QWP, where Pakistan People’s Party former councilor from union council 13 Peshawar city Sadiq Akbar Safi, Farman Shah Safi, Ijaz Khan Safi, Balal Khan and others announced joining the party. The new entrants into the party reposed confidence in the leadership of the QWP and vowed to work for strengthening the party.
Addressing the gathering, Sikandar Sherpao said that the government was yet to provide any relief to the people in the face of skyrocketing inflation. He said that the government had failed to bring down the prices of the daily use items and the people were reeling from the effects of the ill-conceived policies of the government.
The QWP leader said that the PTI rulers could not implement the so-called agenda of reforms as the slogan of change was a ploy to reach the corridors of power. He said the PTI government wasted billions of rupees on the ill-planned and ill-executed Bus Rapid Transit project instead of spending the huge amount on launching projects in the health, education and other social sectors for the well-being of the common people.
