Karachi experienced the coldest day of the ongoing winter season on Friday when the mercury dropped to seven degree centigrade.
According to the Met office, the maximum temperature recorded in the city on Friday was 24.2 degree Celsius with 17 per cent relative humidity in the evening and 59 per cent in the evening.
The Met office has issued forecast of dry weather, predicting a cold night for Saturday with the minimum mercury level expected to range between seven to nine degrees centigrade. A spokesman for the Met office said the severe cold spell in the city would start losing its intensity from Saturday as there would be a considerable rise in the minimum mercury level during the night time. He said cloudy weather was expected in Karachi during the next week under the influence of an incoming low-pressure system.
