The NA-122 potential

The election tribunal’s decision to cancel the NA-122 result is indeed an achievement for the PTI and Imran Khan. The verdict has potential to bring about a paradigm shift in our national outlook. But this can only be achieved if Imran is resolutely dispassionate in ensuring adherence to high moral principles in his own life and political career – a step mandatory for transforming into a statesman instead of riding the popular wave of recognition and eminence. There is a lot of soul-searching needed for the PTI to re-strategise itself for the upcoming by-elections and refrain from committing those egregious mistakes that remained its hallmark in the 2013 general elections.
Imran is anything but a politician and at the moment the nation does not need another expedient politician. We rather need someone who has the passion of an obdurate child to inculcate transparency, justice and equality in all matters of the state. Imran can easily drain the moral legitimacy of the PML-N regime by remaining focussed on his cause, instead of attempting to tweet on every issue that is cropped up to divert his focus.
