Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have challaned 52,135 vehicles for violating laws relating to number plates during last eight months of present year.
An official of ITP told this agency that department is taking all out efforts for smooth flow of traffic on busy roads of capital city.
The ITP is running a special campaign against the vehicles with fancy number plates and usage of pressure horn to facilitate the motorists and ensure protection of citizens’ lives, he added.
He said the ITP have challaned 36,384 motorists for using fancy number plates.
Similarly, 15,751 vehicles were challaned for moving on roads without number plates and using pressure horn during last eight months of this year.
