CM Usman Buzdar vows to change fate of backward areas
LAHORE:Provincial ministers Hussain Jehania Gardezi, Malik Nauman Langrial, PTI office-bearers, party workers, lawyers and notables of the area called on Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in Mian Channu on Saturday.
The chief minister said that cities like Khanewal were kept backward intentionally in the past. He said Khanewal was his own district. He said he wanted to solve the peoples’ problems. He said changing the destiny of every backward city was his mission.
He disclosed that 102 development projects worth Rs18 billion would be completed in Khanewal district. Under the Punjab Municipal Services Programme, development projects of Rs43 crore would be completed in national and provincial constituencies of the district.
He said the 987 acres of state land got vacated from illegal occupants would be utilised for the projects of public welfare. Usman Buzdar said that he would visit Khanewal, Mian Channu, Kabirwala and Jehania again soon. He said model police stations were being set up in every tehsil of Khanewal. He said that entrance and exit points of the city would be beautified.
Project of construction and repair of roads of Khanewal district will be completed at an amount of Rs13.25 billion and consultation with the assembly members would be given due importance.
He said journalists of Khanewal district would be included in Sehat Insaf Card scheme. He said that launch of a bus service of Bahauddin Zakariya University for girl students of Khanewal was being considered.
Link road: Usman Buzdar laid a foundation stone of project of link road in Mian Channu. While talking on this occasion, Usman Buzdar said Rs11 crore would be spent on the construction of 9 km-long road from Pull Rappherwali to 9/R.
He said that with the completion of this project, better transport facilities would be available to the people of the area. He said that PTI government had launched a programme Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan for strengthening the rural economy of the province.
Under the project, thousands of kilometre long roads of rural areas would be constructed as well repaired at a cost of billions of rupees next year.
He said carpeted roads were being constructed in the rural areas of the province. He said that project Naya Pakistan Manzilain Aasan would prove to be a game changer for the rural economy.

In his condolence message, the chief minister prayed may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and strength to the members of the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
grieved: Usman Buzdar has expressed grief over the loss of precious human lives in a traffic accident in Fort Abbas.
He extended heartfelt sympathies and condolences to the bereaved families. He directed the administration to provide best treatment facilities to those suffered injuries in the accident.
