PIC becomes fully functional
LAHORE: Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) has become fully functional once again on Tuesday after disruption of its business for one week due to lawyers’ attack on the hospital on December 11.
The emergency ward, however, had resumed services a couple of days after the incident. The poor heart patients heaved a sigh a relief as healthcare services resumed at Out-Patients Department (OPD) and indoor wards, Operation Theatres (OTs), diagnostic laboratory and pharmacy. The doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, however, staged a token protest for one hour at noon in the OPD to protest against lawyers’ attack on country’s largest cardiac facility in the city. Grand Health Alliance (GHA), a representative body of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff, has reiterated demand of provision of foolproof security at hospitals across the province.
