LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has become the first chamber of the country with 10 facilitation centres at its premises for the members, the latest being Punjab Employees Social Security Institution (PESSI).
PESSI Director General Muhammad Hanif Rana and LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh inaugurated the facilitation centre, a statement said on Tuesday. The DG said that PESSI Centre at LCCI would help in addressing issues faced by the business community at the earliest. The Provincial Employees Social Security Ordinance, 1965 requires the employers to contribute six percent of the wages of their employees. The DG said contribution of the businessmen was being spent on the social welfare projects transparently.
LCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh said it as the 10th facilitation centre at LCCI, while centres of Traffic Police, NADRA, Excise and Taxation, SMEDA, FBR, LESCO, IPO, Exports Facilitation and Complaint Cell were already providing matchless services to the business community. “Through these facilitation sectors, we are easing the hurdles businessmen face while visiting the offices of these institutions that serve all segments of the society.”
