KARACHI: Pakistan Hospitality Exhibition 2019, the country’s first global exhibition on tourism and hospitality, concluded on Thursday.
Pavilion End Club Secretary col Amir Shakeel (retd) said Pakistan’s amusement industry could help boost tourism manifolds to bring in the much needed foreign exchange and tax revenues.
“Pakistan has witnessed a plausible increase in the number of foreign tourists during the last few years and it is high time that we tap into this opportunity,” he said during a presentation on Role of Amusement/Recreational Industry in Tourism at the Expo Centre.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Badar Expo Solutions Managing Director Zohair Naseer said the three-day exhibition opened new investment opportunities in the hotel and tourism sector of the country.
He said approximately 60 local and foreign companies participated in the event. The MD also appreciated the contributing organisations, including the Association of Hotel Industry, food industry, exhibitors, domestic and foreign delegations and business delegates for making it a successful event.
The exhibition provided a platform for companies that were directly or indirectly linked to the tourism and hospitality industry. “It will further strengthen the vision of the prime minister and the agenda for promoting domestic and international tourism in Pakistan.”
