Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Idrees has praised the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja for setting the noble traditions by refusing protocol and taking a bold decision in favour of national language Urdu.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, the Jamaat-e-Islami leader said the Chief Justice had taken a historic and memorable step by writing his note in a Supreme Court judgment in Urdu and also by taking the oath of his office in the national language.
Jamaat-e-Islami Naib Ameer said that conspiracies had always been going on against Urdu language and the efforts by the Chief Justice to counter these were in accordance with the wishes of every patriotic citizen. Hafiz Muhammad Idrees said some of decisions by Mr Justice Jawwad Khwaja had earned him a distinct place in the history of the judiciary and the country.
He also urged country’s rulers not to stifle the voice of national language. He said the rule of the British had been over long ago; therefore, the slavery of the English language should also come to an end.
