Call to promote ties between Pak, China universities
LAHORE:Punjab University’s Dean Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof Dr Iqbal Chawla has said art has a universal language while adding that China and Pakistan could strengthen bilateral and people to people relations further through fine arts.
He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of a three-day university exchange and art education forum on “China-Pakistan Friendship” jointly organised by PU College of Arts and Design (PUCAD) and Changsha Normal University’ College of Fine Arts and Design at Old Campus here Tuesday.
Addressing the participants, Prof Dr Iqbal Chawla said Pakistan and China both were culturally rich countries and fine arts could help us understand each other. He said artifacts presented by the Chinese delegation were much impressive in the exhibition. He said PU Department of History for the first time in Pakistan had launched joint PhD programme in the subject of history in collaboration with the Chinese university under which 15 Chinese students were studying at PU. He stressed the need to promote bilateral relations between the universities of both the countries and exchange of students and faculty members.
