PU, UK varsity ink MoU

LAHORE:Punjab University College of Pharmacy and University of Huddersfield, UK have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore, purify and characterise new sources of sustainable nano-materials for various industrial applications.

The MoU signing ceremony was organised at committee room of Vice-Chancellor’s office here Monday. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar and other officials were present on the occasion. Senior staff from the institutions will communicate and meet regularly to promote this collaboration in various areas of mutual interest. Meanwhile, the vice-chancellor inaugurated a coffee shop adjacent to university club for faculty members. On this occasion, the VC said PU administration had taken several initiatives to provide healthy environment at the university.

seminar: Virtual University in collaboration with Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) successfully completed its first and second round of organising entrepreneurial and innovation seminars in seven different cities of Pakistan with the theme “Entrepreneurship as Viable Career Option”.

According to a press release, these cities included Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Jalalpur Pirwala, Nankana, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal. The seminars aimed to connect students, innovators, and tech pioneers with the entrepreneurial community of Pakistan. Entrepreneurs, investors, influencers, professionals and students from all over Pakistan attended the seminars. The speaker line-up included global voices who served not only in Pakistan but also in United Kingdom, Malaysia and on other international fora.

The speakers agreed that younger entrepreneurs were the most successful. They said one could have his or her own view of the world, and entrepreneurship was the best platform where they could pursue that view and see the fruition of their vision.
