PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Monday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was the least bothered to secure the rights of the province from the centre.

Speaking at a press conference at Watan Kor here, he said that though the PTI was in power in the province as well as at the centre, it could not secure the rights of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “It shows that the PTI leaders are the least bothered to protect the interests of the province,” he believed.

On the occasion, Noor Elahi of Awami National Party announced joining the QWP along with his family members and supporters.Sikandar Sherpao said that the provincial government had failed to contribute three percent of its NFC Award share for the development of the merged districts.

He criticised the ministers for their indifferent attitude towards the problems being faced by the commoners. The QWP leader maintained that instead of providing relief to the people, the ministers were now giving unsolicited advice to the people about the use of daily use items. “The purchasing power of the people has eroded due to the skyrocketing inflation,” he added. He said that joblessness and lawlessness had made life miserable for the people. \The QWP leader said that the PTI rulers could not implement the so-called agenda of change as it was a ploy to reach the corridors of power.
