LAHORE:A seven-year-old boy was injured by a stray kite string on Muhammad Ali Road, Wahdat Colony on Sunday.
The boy identified as Abu Bakar was on his way along with his father on a bike when a stray kite string injured his throat. The injured boy was rushed to hospital where his condition was said to be out of danger. Meanwhile, Faisal Town police arrested a kite seller and recovered kite and strings from his possession.
The arrested man was identified as Danish. Factory Area police arrested one Ejaz and recovered kites and strings from his possession. Ghalib Market police arrested a man and recovered 600 bottles of liquor from his possession. Sundar police arrested two proclaimed offenders who were later identified as Sajid Nazeer and Babar Ali.
24 arrested: Dolphin police arrested 24 persons on charges of doing wheelie, kite flying and firing in the air. Similarly, Baghbanpura police registered cases against four persons for doing wheelie and kite flying. Nishtar Colony Police also registered eight cases under Tenancy Act.
PHP meeting: The newly-appointed Additional IGP Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) addressed a meeting of all regional heads to review comparative performance of each region. All the regional heads gave presentation about the performance of their respective regions. The chair addressed and gave guidelines for effective patrolling, pickets and checking on the roads. He ordered to take strict action against over speeding/overloaded vehicles.
