Girl burnt to death
Rawalpindi: A 9-year-old girl was burnt to death in a fire incident at Kashmir Bazaar here on Friday.
Rescue 1122 spokesman Muhammad Farooq Butt told ‘The News’, the girl, Ayesha Elahi, suffered 100 per cent burn injuries and was found dead at the spot while her three other siblings were rescued from the locked room with the help of neighbours in Street No 11, Mohanpura, near Kashmiri Bazaar. Mother of the unfortunate girl feel unconscious and was shifted to District Headquarter Hospital (DHQ) for medical treatment
According to Rescue 1122 spokesman and neighbours, 35-year-old Nighat Bibi used to work in different houses and usually left her kids locked in a room before going to work. On the day of the incident, the girl lit burner in the locked room which resulted in eruption of fire that engulfed her and burnt her to death.
