ISLAMABAD: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Thursday claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government had made various attempts to bribe him with lucrative offers during his recent Azadi March including the post of Senate chairman and formation of government in Balochistan.
"You don't know what offers they made me," he said, referring to the government. "I was told to leave my seat (at the dharna) and I could get re-elected to the Assembly from Dera Ismail Khan," he claimed.
According to Geo News, Fazlur Rehman said that he was offered to become the governor of Balochistan or form his government in the province. "I was also offered the post of Senate chairman," he claimed. "I thought all the offers being made to me were belittling."
He called on the chief election commissioner to decide the PTI foreign funding case before his retirement and called for extension of tenure of the CEC till the case is decided.
The Maulana said theroots of the government have been cut and now the stem will also be cut down. He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz got temporary relief from the Azadi March led by the JUI-F. He said he prays for all the jail leaders to be set free.
